3 Month Programme

Hospitality Team

Work Programme Volunteers are vital to Jamyang, and make up the core of the residential community. In return for a room in Jamyang, food and a £40 per week stipend, team members work full-time to help with the main tasks of reception and keeping the building looking welcoming for visitors. Team members get two days off a week and stay for a period of three months.

Kitchen Yogi

The next positions are available from September 2007.

We also need help in the kitchen and require a 'kitchen yogi'. He or she will focus on the smooth running of the kitchen alongside our staff cook, Yolanda, who also runs a monthly Healthy Cooking Workshop. Vegetarian culinary experience would be preferable but not essential, as some training will be given on the job. The main duties will involve chopping, cleaning and some cooking. This position is with the same remuneration as the Work Programme Volunteer and for a minimum stay of three months.

Repaying the Kindness

Programme for carers*

Vacancies for people who would like to experience the taste of compassion in action — we need additional practical help for our ongoing programme of daytime events for carers — we would like to build up a bank of people willing to offer some of their time to this project. You will most likely need to be available during the daytime and resident in London.

Please phone or leave a message on +44 (0) 20 7820 9020.

* A carer is someone who looks after a relative, partner or friend or child who is ill or frail or has a physical, mental health or learning disability.
