Tai Chi, Chi Kung and YogaJump to: Tai Chi & Chi Kung ~ Regular Yoga classes back to calendar back to this term with William WalkerMondays: 6 September - 13 December (except Mon 22 October) Regular attendance from the start is required. £6/£4.50 per class, both classes £10. ![]() Chi Kung This class is based on the still and dynamic postures of Zhan Zhuang Chi Kung, often referred to as ‘standing like a tree’. Recommended reading: ‘The Way of Healing’ and ‘The Way of Power’ by Master Lam Kam Chuen. Tai Chi In this class William will teach ‘Lam style Tai Chi’, guaranteed to excercise the body, sooth the mind and uplift the spirit. Recommended reading: ‘Step by Step Tai Chi’ by Master Lam Kam Chuen. William is a senior student of renowned teacher and writer Master Lam Kam Chuen and authorized instructor with the Lam Association. These include both static and dynamic asanas (postures), breathing, pranayamas (utilizing the breath to build and expand energy), mudras (energy circuits), bandhas (energy locks), Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation with inner wakefulness), and meditation techniques. These practices help to increase and refine the energy whilst gradually bringing the mind to a steady focused point, thereby bringing a sense of perspective and calm, and facilitating meditation.We will learn techniques which can be used moment to moment as we deal with life’s challenges. |
