This term

Meditation Courses ( 91 Events )

For complete beginners, we offer Introduction to Meditation on Mondays and Meditation for Beginners (yes the title is a bit of a give away!) on Thursdays about once a month.  On Thursdays we also offer Silent Meditation which does exactly what it says on the tin, just silently meditating together.

Buddhist Courses ( 76 Events )

Geshe Tashi leads a weekend Tara retreat on 8 and 9 October.  This is open to all.  Also, there are the regular daily Tara pujas every Tuesday from 4 - 5.30pm to which everyone is very welcome.

We have two holy days that fall in this programme, Descent from Tushita day on Thursday 17 November which we will be celebrating from 8am to 12 noon, and Lama Tsong Khapa day on Tuesday 20 December which we will be celebrating with a Lama Choepa puja from 7.30 - 9pm.

Finally in the week before Christmas we will offer a Chenresig Nyung Nay retreat.  This purification practice from the lower tantras is a wonderful way to deepen your connection with what is good and to clear out what is bad in your life.  The Nyung Nay retreat finishes early on Friday 23 December leaving participants enough time to get to where they need to be for Christmas and New Year.

Retreats ( 10 Events )

Retreats are good times to deepen our understanding of Dharma.

Community events ( 80 Events )

September sees a glut of community activities.  The Jamyang Walk on Saturday 17 Sept and on the same day in the Open Afternoon at Jamyang.  The walk takes you to exotic bye ways off highways in this glorious metropolis under the expert guidance of the doyen of Jamyang Robin Bath, walker and raconteur.  The open day gives you the chance to check us out, tour the building, see what we have done with it, try some meditation, hear a bit about Buddhism, a bit about us and get to sink your teeth into a cak from our cafe, washed down with tea or coffee.  The tour starts at 2pm prompt.

Ali, our cafe cook, and her friend Kath continue their evangelical drive to bring the gospel of proper bread and cake making to the good folk of Greater London with two cake and bread making Sunday workshops in September.  There is something profoundly soul nourishing about getting stuck in to cooking with wholesome ingredients to produce nourishing food. Hallelujah!  Check them out.

Family day continues on one Sunday a month giving a fun time to kids and parents and exploring themes in creative ways.  Loads of kids galloping around the Centre is loads of fun.

Last but not least in December we get together as a community to review the year gone by, rejoice in what we have achieved, make new friendships and renew old ones, and explore what we hope to achieve in the year ahead.  Come along to our Community day on Sunday 18 December starting at 11am.
